Bruce Altheide is the Chief Wealth Officer for CoastHills Credit Union, one of the largest financial institutions on California’s Central Coast, where he leads an elite CoastHills Wealth Management team of financial advisors. Bruce first began developing his core principles while working his way (on a loading dock) through college in Olympia, Washington: A tenacious desire to help “real” people succeed and live better lives; a focus on best interests; a relentless pursuit of excellence; and a burning desire to learn, grow intellectually and innovate. Bruce has since worked extensively in the financial arena (since 1987) serving clients and credit union members through holistic financial planning, disciplined investment strategies and proactive personal service. These driving core beliefs have led Bruce to become one of LPL Financials' top-ranking financial advisors.
Bruce is a regular guest speaker for many companies and local organizations. Bruce speaks on several financial subjects, including: Economic updates and market forecasts, retirement planning, estate conservation, tax reduction techniques and investment strategies.
Acting upon his strong beliefs on the importance of helping others in need and giving back to the communities he lives and works in, Bruce devotes a significant amount of time to CoastHills Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization tasked with "making a difference in the lives" of community members in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. Bruce was the founder of CoastHills Community Foundation and is its Chairman.
Some of Bruce’s academic and professional credentials include: Bachelor of Arts—Economics, Certified Financial Planner®, LPL Financial perennial top producer, LPL Registered Principal and a California Tax Education Council Registered Tax Preparer. He also holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses through LPL Financial.
When Bruce is not helping credit union members and clients strive to live better lives--he is a husband, a grandfather, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend. He loves being active and outside; he has a wicked, dry sense of humor; likes Rock & Roll and loves just about anything with bacon on it!
Bruce and his wife, Barbara, live in Northern Santa Barbara County.
